Strategy games are a genre of computer games in which the player is required to make complex tactical decisions, plan and manage resources in order to achieve certain strategic goals. The strategy genre can include subgenres such as turn-based strategy, real-time strategy, tower defense, global strategy, and others.

Turn-based strategy typically involves step-by-step analysis and planning where players make moves in a set sequence. Real-time strategy (RTS) requires players to manage resources and make real-time tactical plans at the same time. Tower Defense games challenge players to defend a specific area from enemy attacks by building defensive structures and creating traps.

Strategy games can be based on military conflicts, economic simulations, control of civilizations, fantasy worlds, or even political scenarios. They stimulate players' intellectual abilities by requiring analysis, planning, and decision-making, and often provide an opportunity to develop leadership skills and strategic thinking.
